I feel it's my duty as a northerner to remind everyone of the graphic novel, Alice in Sunderland.

Beautiful stuff! I love the books very much too. Only recently, I was reflecting on them while on one of my walks along the riverside and then up through the paths between the hedges and the vines, and into the woods and hills with my faithful hound... I had been talking of them with a friend, and someone else had jokingly called me the White Rabbit, for my habit of theatrical business with a pocket-watch...

As I mused, I passed a strange and fascinating gateway to a path to a house which is advertised as "Astral Laundry" (it tickles me immensely, but it turns out "Astral" is just a very old brand of detergent here in France... Still. I adore the concept of going to get your astral laundry done!)... Then suddenly, the Hound strained at her leash and pointed like the hunter that's in her blood... And there, along the verdant path behind the gate: a huge white rabbit, calmly cropping the grass. Not at all the kind one sees in the wild, in ordinary times. But then, these are NOT ordinary times, are they?
